Learning Management System - NMLZ
The online delivery platform will be called NCLC-MCA Online Learning Zone. MCA would opt for online learning delivery will be provided access to a centrally established and managed learning system. While the portal will be centrally maintained, the learning support by individual teachers will be available in the MCA chapters where the parents choose to enroll their children.
The teacher or the learning facilitator should be able to guide the learners on learning tasks that they need to accomplish in a particular period or stage. He/she should be able to distinguish the essential developmental support needed by each learner through supplemental learning encounter or by directing to additional learning resources. The Teacher as the virtual learning guide is the primary agent to assess learning achievement of the children and direct them to the next steps or stages.
The learner as the main user of the learning management system should be fully acquainted and well-versed with the online learning system. He/she should be able to explore freely all the learning activities to build intended competencies as programmed and willingly access other available resources within and beyond the learning management system. His/her mastery of competency should be manifested through actual accomplishments of carefully planned learning tasks coupled with portfolio of outputs and formative & summative assessments as provided in the learning management system.
Lastly the parent, in home-based learning the role of the parent or guardian is essential. They serve as the para-teacher who ensures tasks and progress expected at a particular time is met. Hence, they also need to understand their role and be able to navigate the virtual learning environment in order to track or monitor the learning progress and identify deficiency, if there is any.
